Building Capacity

Kew has more than 30 years experience in seed conservation. Through the MSBP we are sharing this experience with others and contributing towards international commitments to technology transfer.

The 'technology' we are passing on is not just about the equipment and facilities needed for seed conservation. We also help people to understand the scientific processes involved, train them to use new and improved techniques and procedures, and provide them with information.

Together, our training, technical support and information provision activities ensure that all our partners have the necessary skills, knowledge and facilities to successfully conserve seeds and meet global conservation targets.
