Gallery Restoration

Marianne North Gallery restoration

The 125 year old Marianne North Gallery has now closed for restoration. The 832 paintings, all by this intrepid Victorian lady, and the building will be restored for reopening next year. As well as each painting being individually restored, major works will include replacing the roof and recreating the lost terracotta flooring.

We are delighted that the Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded a grant of £1.8 million towards this work.

You can support the restoration by "adopting" one of Marianne North's beautiful paintings or making a donation to the restoration project. See: www.kew.org/mng.

For more information call Caroline Eliaon 020 8332 3243 or email  her at c.elia@kew.org.
