A Heritage Tree

lIBRARY BOOKS

From time to time we have a limited number of specimen trees available for sponsorship at Kew.

In summer 2006 several mature trees were planted in a newly landscaped Mediterranean setting.  These include specimens of the Cork Oak, Quercus suber, the Stone Pine, Pinus pinea and an Olive, Olea europaea, and selected trees are available for sponsorship of £4,000.

Trees in Kew Gardens do not have commemorative plaques, but gifts with a personal dedication are recorded in the Commemorative Tree Register held in the Marianne North Gallery and on a touchscreen register.  Commemorative Trees are also recorded on Kew’s Arboretum database, which holds the curatorial information and unique accession number of every tree grown in the Gardens.
